Neuropsychiatric features in Alzheimer's disease Lead Investigator: Michael Cuccaro Institution : University of Miami Miller School of Medicine E-Mail : mcuccaro@med.miami.edu Proposal ID : 1495 Proposal Description: Neuropsychiatric (NP) features are a common co-occurrence among individuals with Alzheimer's disease related disorders (ADRD). The relationship between NP features and clinical outcomes in ADRD is not well understood. The objectives of this project are to understand the occurrence of NP features across different population groups and their relationship to ADRD outcomes. To accomplish these objectives we propose the following aims: SA1. Establish the prevalence of NP features across different population groups. SA2. Analyze the association of NP features within population groups to multiple variables including age, education, cognition, severity, and vascular risk factors SA3 Analyze the association of NP features to APOE and select biomarkers. The results of this study will expand our understanding of the relationship of NP features to ADRD outcomes. We believe that the complex biology of NP feature impact ADRD outcomes and this study is a first step in disentangling their role.
